- SOLO: Solo Mandolin is ideal for many venues especially private house or historic settings. The mandolin can be fun and frivolous but also warm and welcoming; the perfect balance for a party or event. Alison's repertoire is extensive and includes many charming Italian romantic solos including (click on title for sound samples): Please feel free to ask for a demo disc of Italian Romantic solos for other ideas. Alison also has an extensive solo baroque repertoire including many popular pieces by Bach (including the Suites for 'cello and the Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin) and Telemann (including the 12 Fantasias). Alison will normally play a mixture of styles unless instructed otherwise, but is very happy to play just one style if that is requested. If presenting a solo pre or post dinner concert, Alison can bring several different mandolins which she explains a little about and demonstrates, making a fascinating and unique programme for your guests.
